On Saturday 24 July, the choir joined our good friends from Perfect Harmony for a joint concert in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The hall at Westwood College, Leek was full to capacity, as Musical Director Ian Jones led both choirs in a full and varied programme of choral singing. The items ranged from Les Miserables to The Hippopotamus Song, with a rousing finale as both choirs joined forces to sing the powerful Anthem, from Chess.  This performance brought requests for an encore from the audience, resulting in an even more rousing rendition of the item.
Wetley Rocks Male Voice is proud to have contributed to this concert, which raised over £1500 for local Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our joint concert with Chapel en le Frith MVC has been confirmed for 11 September at Buxton Methodist Church Market Place Buxton

We have been pleased to welcome new recruits to our ranks in recent times, but more will still be made very welcome, in all sections of the choir, especially Bass.  There is no formal audition, and the ability to read music is not required.  A love of singing and a degree of committment are qualities which we do look look for in prospective choristers.

Any gentlemen interested are welcome to join us for a look and listen at rehearsal.  The place is Wetley Rocks Methodist Church, the time Monday evenings at 7-30pm.  For more information and a chat call John Giddings on 01538- 388024.  Come and join us!

Our former musical director Simon J Baker, currently training for the catholic priesthood in Spain, is back in this country.  We are delighted to announce that Simon will be displaying his skills as organist in a recital at St Augustine's Church, Meir, Stoke-on-Trent.  The choir has been pleased to accept an invitaion to sing with Simon on this occasion.  Details on our forthcoming events page.
